The popularity of the AfriForum 911 Emergency Button, which you can download on your phone, has increased tremendously and has led this civil rights organisation to help more and more people in need.

More than 30,000 of the organisation’s members have already downloaded the app to their phones.

In the latest case, AfriForum was able to find a hijacked vehicle in Witbank yesterday.

A member activated the AfriForum 911 Emergency Button yesterday morning at about 9:50 and informed AfriForum’s control room that one of his workers was hijacked in one of his vehicles, a white Toyota bakkie with a load of chicks on the back. The worker was held hostage and made to call his employer. The hijackers wanted R5,500 cash from the man. They later threw him out of the vehicle and fled with it.

AfriForum’s control room informed the police in Bronkhorstspruit and Witbank about the incident. The vehicle also had a Cartrack detection device. The control room also provided a description of the bakkie and the registration number to Cartrack who sent out a response unit.

They managed to find the vehicle. The hijackers, however, got away.

The AfriForum 911 Emergency Button and Emergency Service are offered in collaboration with TrackBox Technologies. TrackBox’s existing emergency services include the SAPS, the Hawks, the K9 Unit, 10111 Centres, Netcare 911, ER24, Fire and Rescue departments, advanced life support, the eThekwini Municipality and the City of Cape Town.

The AfriForum 911 Emergency Button can be used in case of attacks, hijackings, house-breaking, theft, fire and medical emergencies.

People who have downloaded the app can also report suspicious persons, vehicles, cases of human trafficking, hunting incidents with dogs, illegal parking and land grabs.

AfriForum members can, for an additional fee of R20 per month, receive premium services that include GPS and cellphone detection in case of emergency and a ‘TrackMe’ GPS feature. With the latter, users who are travelling, for example, can be monitored through the control room at regular intervals to ensure their safety.

VCAT-7 Operatives App, AAA-Response Button & TrackMe

TrackMe for the AAA-Response Button is live in beta. Please will those in beta help us stress-test TrackMe in rural areas, farms, forest areas and under daily driving conditions. This is the button on the bottom right once you open your AAA-Response app.

In testing the above image is from a live stress-test and this is what we are looking to check across all devices from entry level to the latest high end devices.

• Arriving at the gate on the bottom right.
• Walking right to do a perimeter check of the fence line.
• Walking to the house to do an external building check of all windows and doors.
• Back to the vehicle parked at the gate, bottom right.
• The new TrackMe, AAA-Response Button and VCAT-7 Operatives tracking is pinpoint accurate down to movement every 10 m.
• 17% battery life in 75 mins. used.

Emergency Services:

The above was a stress-test from HQ to home with response driving from 60, 120, 140, 160 and 180 kph. These were in keeping with controlled chase speeds such as would be necessary in an emergency, ALS (Advanced Life Support) and normal response driving, then the stand-off checks.

If you plug in to a charger while driving it will charge at a high rate.

You can expect a worst case scenario under battery stress of around 15% drop off per one full hour.

Evening all.

I’m in need of your help with beta testing please.
A new TrackBox app, Android version (1.0.365) is available.

Changes:

• New SDK (Software Development Kit) is in use to accommodate Android 9 and Huawei devices.
• The backend of the AAA-Response app and the TrackMe feature have been completely overhauled.
• The widget has undergone a fair amount of changes.

NB: The app needs a complete round of testing, with a new SDK, TrackMe and AAA-Response app rebuild and module upgrades.

Everything in the app is affected by this change, hence the need for a very, very thorough test.

This is the first phase. Will keep you posted.

WHEN WE LOSE a Tactical Operative, we lose a national treasure!

I am deeply hurt and saddened on hearing of the loss of these lives, and share the weight of this loss with family members and work colleagues of the deceased. When these brave men and women go on duty, the families they leave at home are also on duty with them, hoping that their shift will be quiet and that they will return home safely after a long day.

All tactical operations require the best of the best, knowing they are potentially placing themselves in the line of fire each and every day of their lives. Months of work, investigation and teamwork beyond what we will ever understand takes place behind the scenes to ensure that the most tactical arrests are effected, followed by convictions.

THANK YOU to the SAPS, The Hawks, CI, Magma Investigations and all CIT Companies for their daily commitment to our country and safety of the cash that powers our economy, our future and all that work so hard daily to achieve a better life for all.

You will remember when we last lost a specialised Operative, it was an NIU member – so tragic.

We must all keep doing what we are doing because one thing is for sure: teamwork, technology and collaboration is key to our country’s future, from all role-players, local, provincial and national in all sectors of the community and across all races and cultures.

Criminals only see what they can take from others without labouring or working honestly for it… and they must realise that they will pay the ultimate price if they insist on living lives of violent crime. Massive upgrades to improve Service Delivery

Team, please be advised that we are doing massive upgrades to improve service delivery and our background technology processes for TrackBox – AAA Button on Android, followed by iOS.

This has been outstanding for a while but we had to get through other key developments first.

We expect this to take until Friday 8th February for the first stage of implementation.

We will keep you informed but for those on BETA keep us in the loop for any challenges/bugs/queries.

Kicking of 2019

Afternoon Commanders, Members, CEO’s, Directors, Leadership Committees, friends!

I am back from my time off from 3rd to 9th January.

We are about four days behind on our Development Schedule but will catch up. There are loads of development roll outs, upgrades and launches happening in January, February and March, so keep an eye out for them. 2019 started for us in July last year with a real ramp-up and push from September to get ahead due to the country unravelling so hard and so fast in all sectors, the likes of which we have never seen before. Crime statistics are rocketing.

Project Code Red is doing great, with over 30 lives saved in December alone. On one day four emergency flights took place, with one involving a tractor roll in Winterton. As we know, Project Code Red is a multi-agency collaboration to ensure 100% sustainability, as far as possible avoiding any in-house politics that have sadly caused the last four KZN private medical helicopter operations to fail. There are just not enough callouts for competing services to share in equally, so please do all you can with all your local agencies to call Netcare on 082911 or our ERPC (Emergency Response & Prevention Centre) to make sure that a helicopter is on standby. Remember: this is the only medical machine in KZN, and this time round we are preparing to fly at night as a two-pilot operation. Starlite VCAT-7 R66 NVG with an Advanced Life Support Member and The Hawks/CI are also available. We are basically next to one another on the airfield at Virginia Airport. We are very pleased to let you know that we now have a TrackBox Netcare 911 Dispatch Desk in JHB for operations between the ERPC Collaboration Network centres, Netcare 911 and Hospital Group. Thank you to Craig Grindell, Managing Director, Netcare 911 for making this happen. Out of interest, we now comprise some 877 ERPC’s with AfriForum 911 Head Office and 158 individual branch ERPC’s leading the way across the country with the single largest user base. Our estimated reach is around 1.4 million users/persons across the 877 ERPC’s.

2019 Holding the Line!

Going into 2019 we have to work hard as we transition from our successes in 2018, and more than ever before we must hold the line for all those that believe in our country and the Rainbow Nation collective dream. We must serve and protect the dreams and hard work of all those ranging from tea lady to housekeepers, gardeners, mothers, fathers, employers, Government, NGO’s and places of worship, now more than even before. We have to try and find our stolen rainbow and get it restored and returned to the nation. Once we do this we will begin anew the dream path and start over with a direction to follow and creating a future worth investing in.

Let’s get going this year and start to swing some hard, solid, calculated, jawline knockout blows as our teamwork targets criminals and all forms of injustice. If we can’t be safe in our country, our land is worth nothing and neither is it worth investing in. THANK YOU for the daily results to show that all is not lost… and thank you to all the business leaders and all those who believe in some kind of higher power… Now is the time to really network and join forces if we are going to find our stolen rainbow and give it back to the country in order for us to have hope. When a country has hope, it has direction!
